Zune 80 beats iPod classic
Gizmodo has summarized the first 6 reviews of the new 80GB Zune model, and it looks like it’s a clear pick (well, kind of anyway) versus the iPod classic. Competition is good for everyone so I’m happy that someone is standing up for a fight. I haven’t touched (hehe) my iPod 80GB since I got my iPod touch though…
O2’s on fire with iPhone
It looks like it was a great move by O2 fighting to get the iPhone license in the United Kingdom. Their CEO said that “It has been the fastest-selling device we have ever seen.” and since two thirds of all customers buying the iPhone were new customers to O2 they are increasing their market position dramatically.

Waterproof headphones
I would guess that these waterproof headphones called Euphonia from Bainultra are very expensive as they are accessories to expensive home spas but I like the concept. Euphonia consist of two unites - a wall-mounted mp3 player and waterproof headphones. There are no cables involved but that is basically everything we know about the set at this point. Euphonia will be available to order on December 1st.

90 000 Toshibas sold over the weekend
Best Buy and Wal-mart had a campaign during the weekend where they sold the Toshiba HD-A2 for $100 - and that resulted in an impressive amount of HD DVD players sold. Over 90 000 players were sold during the weekend. Impressive. Is this the start of a price war between the blu-ray and HD DVD camps? I sure hope so - consumer power!
Sony Ericsson W380
Last but not least is my favorite announcement of the day - the Sony Ericsson W380. Apart from being a clamshell walkman phone it comes with two really cool features. Firs t of all is the hidden display that is lit up as soon as someone calls or if you listen to radio, and secondly the new gesture control that makes it possible to turn off the alarm and mute calls by simple hand gestures. The phone will be out in Q1 2008. More photos after the jump.
