Sony Ericsson W890

Sony Ericsson W890

The W890 is another walkman mobile (W - Walkman) from Sony Ericsson, and besides featuring the latest version of their media player (version 3.0) the phone comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera (not as good as the K800i or the K810i though) and HDSPA mobile Internet (4 times faster than a traditional 3G phone). The phone is as thin as a CD cover and will be available in the 1st quarter of 2008. More photos after the link

Sony Ericsson K660

Sony Ericsson K660

The Sony Ericsson K660 will be marketed as Sony Ericsson’s new web phone (wonder how well it will do in a straight-on battle versus the iPhone…) and features HDSPA ‘mobike broadband’, a ‘magnetic mouse pointer’ that makes it easier to navigate between input fields and clickable objects, and a web browser with the ability to pan and zoom. The K660 will hit the market in the first quarter 2008. More photos inside.

Sony Ericsson W960

 Sony Ericsson W960

In June Sony Ericsson presented the W960 and now it’s finally time for the phone to hit the stores. The W960 is a 3G phone with touch screen, built-in WiFi, memory for 8000 songs and a 3.2 megapixel camera. The phone will be out in the next couple of weeks and I have seen that many stores already have added the model on their sites. More pictures after the jump.

Open platform for mobile devices

Android & Open Handset Alliance Founding announced by Google today

We have stayed away from the Gphone rumour the last couple of weeks simply because we didn’t believe it was true, and today even Google topped their blog with Where’s my Gphone.

So what did they announce. Well, the announcement made today is hopefully a lot bigger than unveiling a new phone. They announced a multinational alliance of technology and mobile industry leaders, getting together in the Open Handset Alliance to build a truly open platform form mobile devices called android.

There’s only one big problem as I see it, neither Nokia nor Sony Ericsson has decided to join the alliance.

Rock Band demo kit sold early

Rock Band demo kit up for grabs

The party game Rock Band which lets you and your friends play in a rock band isn’t out on the market yet, and won’t be for at least 4 week. But that didn’t stop a Best Buy store in Marina, California from selling the demo floor unit by mistake to a customer. The package is already up for grabs on eBay and I guess that EA ain’t too happy about it…or maybe they are - they probably got a million or two in free PR due to the incident.

The OS X ‘trojan’

The OS X 'trojan'

There’s been a lot of buzz the last couple of days about a new OS X ‘trojan’. Apparently the threat level is very low. You have to install the application and give it your admin password. Just don’t install it…

New Santa Rosa MacBooks

New Santa Rosa MacBooks

Apple did a silent upgrade on all of the MacBooks today. The new version has been upgraded to use the new Intel Santa Rosa architecture which is a bit faster and the new GMA X3100 integrated video that gives faster graphics. I think they all have the same prices as yesterday though.

iPhone - invention of the year

iPhone - invention of the year 2007.

Time Magazine has a yearly contest where they give a product or a service the prestigious title Invention of the year. Last year’s winner was YouTube and this year it’s time for a phone to win - the iPhone. And I have to agree with them as I can’t think of another invention that deserve the award any more than the iPhone do.

Jailbreaked iPhone at Apple Store

Jailbreaked iPhone at Apple Store

This photo is probably rigged by the photographer as you actually only have to point the built-in Safari browser to jailbreakme.com to actually jailbreak an iPhone (or an iPod touch) - but I still think it’s quite a funny photo since it’s taken in an Apple Store and the staff probably will have quite a hard time resetting the phone. All Apple stores will probably ban the jailbreakeme.com from their WiFi pretty, pretty soon!

Convert video to iPhone

Convert video to iPhone

Want to know how to convert video to the iPod touch or the iPhone? Today Lifehacker presented a great guide to the Top 10 free video rippers, encoders, and converters out there. My personal favorites are Videora iPod touch converter for the PC and iSquint for the Mac.
