Music Light Concept

Music Light Concept

The Music Light concept is a light show device that measures certain sound frequencies in order to keep the crowd entertained. This concept takes the action up a notch as it is able to visualize sound by moving light pulses up and down, rippling and shifting colors simultaneously. As for the wearer, it probably won't affect him/her that much since most people won't bother staring at their cord, but the benefit targets passers-by more than anybody else.

CD Player Concept

Well well, what do we have here? A CD player concept even though we are truly well into 2008 where iPods and other PMPs roam the earth. Still, this is a pretty interesting concept that comes with a remote control that has a tilt sensing bar within. A touch screen display completes the remote, where leaving the bar vertical allows you to change the volume level while a horizontal position is meant for changing tracks. Pandora has also created this concept by using Alcantara - a material used in luxury cars and yachts. Neat, eh?

Health Guard Concept

The elderly normally find that their mental faculties start to deteriorate as they edge closer and closer towards the century mark where age is concerned. The Health Guard concept aims to keep tabs on the elderly by monitoring what they consume, be it expired foods, medicine, possible allergens and even nutritional info. This information pad is hooked up to any refrigerator while a detachable RFID reader is carried around for use at places like the local market or grocery store. Needless to say, it utilizes a touch sensitive display along with a slew of universal icons that makes it a snap to use. Other features include a memo pad function and a voice recorder that allows them to store voice reminders.

Dell/Alienware Concept Phone

Dell/Alienware Concept Phone

Not so long ago, there was a rumor about Dell jumping into the cellphone market with a Google Android phone. While the rumors are likely to be just vapor, it inspired some to create a concept of what such a phone could look like.

Well, if this is the design, Dell’s entry in to that market is doomed. Fortunately for them, it’s just a concept created by someone else.

KITT Dashboard

KITT Dashboard

Looks like KITT's (of Knight Rider fame) dashboard has gotten a little inspiration from the all conquering iPhone.

You look at the iPhone and you go—thats the coolest phone out there. It's just a flat screen that you can touch and access anything. So the iPhone interface was actually a big inspiration for the way the interior of this car would look because its very simple, it's very streamlined, it's very clean.

The dashboard certainly has precious little knobs as it is decked out in leather, a touch screen display, glossy surfaces and a simple yet elegant design. Other features include a voice spectrometer and a keyboard of some kind. What a dream car to have!

Atlas Kinetic Cell Phone Concept

Atlas Kinetic Cell Phone Concept

Bringing a balance to both form and function is one of the greatest challenges any hardware designer can face, so thankfully we have concepts that allow one's imagination to go wild. The Atlas Kinetic cell phone concept is made out of aluminum and glass, where the central sapphire glass shows off the generating and charging unit. It is powered via kinetic energy just like those found in kinetic-powered watches. Unfortunately, this phone does not push the technological boundary as it comes with most basic of functions, presumably because the amount of power generated isn't enough to run all the other heavy multimedia stuff. At least there's no charger to lug around.

SmartGuide Concept

The SmartGuide power drill concept is definitely something worth thinking about, especially for folks who can't seem to use a power drill properly while spoiling the entire surface. It utilizes a couple of interset rings which collapse in on each other to keep your drill bit straight without straying away. I wonder when will someone make a Smart Hammer that knows how to hit a nail on its head truly and accurately without injuring any thumbs in the process.

D.Scribe Digital Fountain Pen Concept

D.Scribe Digital Fountain Pen Concept

Now this is an interesting concept - the D.Scribe digital fountain pen actually allows you to write a message on paper, circle the person's name and voila - an email would have been sent, and all without the need for a keypad while communicating "in a more personal way from anywhere" - just make sure you have a Bluetooth-enabled handsets and a surface to write on in the vicinity. I don't know, isn't it more time consuming to manually write something out when you can type it in a personal manner as well? I guess should the D.Scribe actually be manufactured, it will probably be more of a novelty than a must-have item. What do you think?

Yuno PC Concept

Most folks often read the morning news with a hot cup of joe in one hand, but the Yuno PC concept wants to bring both ideas together in a single device. It is a coffee mug that keeps your favorite morning beverage warm while delivering news and information such as weather, time, stocks, traffic and more wirelessly on its wraparound touch screen display. Sounds pretty difficult to read, especially with a curved surface facing you. I think I'd stick to my standard paper-and-mug combo, thank you very much.

MacBook Pro 2008 Mock-Up

Spicu has an interesting mock-up of the upcoming MacBook Pro with Multi-Touch. They believe that the new design will use elements introduced by the MacBook Air: dark grey, black and rounder design.

How close do you think this is and most importantly are you anxiously waiting for the new MacBook Pro?

Chanel Coco Phone Concept

Designed by Fred de Garilhe, this phone would have a lower sliding part that contains the display and the function buttons while the upper-piece would hold the numeric pad. When not in use, all the user interface elements would disappear to reveal a pure shiny surface.

Check out the photo gallery. More concepts.

iPhone Monitors Power Usage

iPhone Monitors Power Usage

The iPhone isn't only good for calls and viewing multimedia content, but with the Current State software, it empowers you with the ability to turn plugs on and off, activate timers while keeping track of everything remotely thanks to plug-ends which bridge power sockets that are synced to your handset. The included feature of showing "hotspots" of energy wastage is definitely a boon as you can then tell just how environmentally friendly your energy consumption at home is. Too bad this is but a concept at this point in time - will somebody brilliant out there give enough thought to program something like Current State?

HTC Magnum A Hoax

Guess we were right after all - the specifications on the HTC Magnum look a wee bit too far out for belief, and that has been proven true. The HTC Magnum has been revealed to be in the same class as the Shroud of Turin - a hoax and nothing more. Apparently, the photos and videos you have seen online actually consisted of a 20" HP LCD display hooked up to a HTC X7500 Advantage.

E-paper Music Score

E-paper Music Score

No, EMS here doesn't stand for Expanded Memory Specification but E-paper Music Score instead. Folks who play in a band or orchestras will be able to identify with the pain of carrying huge stacks of sheet music, and this is where the EMS concept comes in to save the day. It uses flexible screen technology which can be rolled up when not in use. When you need to perform, just feed sheet music to it via Bluetooth connectivity from a computer. A foot paddle turns the pages virtually, so you don't have to constantly flip a page every few seconds.
